SHELLAC IN FLAKES AND IN ALCOHOLIC SOLUTION

Shellac is a fragile and scaly secretion of the insect of the order of hemiptera Kerria lacca, present in the forests of Assam and Thailand. Shellac is obtained from the secretions of the female hemiptera, and is harvested from the bark of the trees on which it is deposited to obtain a firm grip on the tree. Once purified, the substance takes the form of yellow/brown pellets or flakes.

We sell it in flakes or in alcoholic solutions produced by us using the purest materials

NATURAL SHELLAC FLAKES

It is the unpurified form (contains a wax) of the original material. It comes in irregular flakes with a brown-orange color.

It should be dispersed in alcohol to obtain a solution that can be used for the protection of natural wood furniture or for the protection of gilded surfaces to which it gives an amber colour.

In packs of 1 kg, 5 kg, 25 kg

DEWAXED SHELLAC IN FLAKES

It is the purified form (the wax is eliminated) of the original material. It comes in irregular flakes of a light golden color.

It should be dispersed in alcohol to obtain a transparent solution that can be used to protect gilded surfaces to which it does not give colour.

Having a neutral PH, it is ideal for isolating gilded surfaces from the application of protective varnishes.
